NeedHelp Platform ("we", "our", "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your personal information in accordance with Canadian privacy laws, including PIPEDA.
We use AI systems to assist with request categorization, matching, moderation, and fraud detection. AI tools support human decision-making and do not replace human oversight.

When you post a request, the following is visible to anyone: your first name and last initial, your city and province, the request title, category and any amount requested. The full request description and comments are shown only to signed-in members. Please do not include health, immigration, financial account or other sensitive details in a request. Our team may edit or remove requests to protect people's privacy and safety.
We use trusted service providers, such as our website hosting and email providers, to run the platform. They process information only on our behalf. Your information may be stored or processed outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be accessible to authorities under local law.
Supporter subscription payments are processed by Stripe. When you subscribe, you enter your card details directly on Stripe's secure checkout page; NeedHelp Platform does not see or store your full card number. Stripe shares with us your name, business name, email, billing address and subscription status so we can manage your plan and deliver your supporter benefits. Stripe handles your information under its own privacy policy (stripe.com/privacy).
To access, correct or delete your personal information, or to withdraw consent, email support@needhelpplatform.com. We will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at www.priv.gc.ca. If we experience a privacy breach that creates a real risk of significant harm, we will notify affected users and the Privacy Commissioner as required by law.
